With the Delta-8 markets on the rise, finding the right device to use to vape your cartridge doesn’t have to be a struggle. One way to ensure you’ve got a great device for vaping would be to ensure that the device has a pre-heat function. Below we’ll go over why pre-heating is important, as well as tips and tricks for your vaping experience.
Preparation
After opening the package your cartridge("cart") comes in, remove the rubber stops from the cart. We recommend keeping these stops as they can help prevent any foreign debris from entering your cart’s airway, which can lead to a clog.
Priming
Many consumers do not use priming in their vaping experience; however, priming your cart can help prevent clogs and ensure that your cart is ready for a top level vaping experience.
In order to prime your cart, make sure the cart is not attached to a battery. You should take a few light pulls from the cart. There should not be any vapor or oil that comes through the airway.
Some users also recommend rubbing the cart between their hands to get the distillate warm. This will also help the pre-heating process.
Connecting the Cart to the Battery

Now that your cart is inspected and primed, it is ready for use.
Ensure that whatever battery you are using is fully charged and ready for use. Be sure to use the charger that comes with your device. In the event your battery does not come with a charger, we recommend using a smart charger. This will prevent your device from overcharging.
Be sure to follow the instructions that came with your battery. Most carts are designed to fit a 510-thread battery. All of Cloud 8’s batteries are a 510 thread.
When connecting your cart to your battery, be sure not to over tighten as this can cause the cart to cross-thread the battery or the cart itself. This will lead to either requiring you to replace the cart, the battery, or both!
Set your battery’s voltage. For best results, the heat should stay between 3v and 3.8v. Keeping your voltage low will ensure that you’re getting a quality tasting vape experience while also ensuring you’re not over burning your distillate. Having your settings too high could lead to your distillate tasting “burnt”. This will also ensure that the coils of your battery are not overworking to heat the distillate. Because of this, you will prolong the life of the coils in your battery. While Cloud 8’s Twister does go up to 4.8 volts, it is always best to start low and work up to higher voltages.
Preheating
Most batteries like Cloud 8’s Twister have a pre-heat function. To initiate the pre-heat function, simply hit the button on your device twice. A light will appear to let you know that the device is charged, and the pre-heat function is engaged. Once the light goes off, your device is ready for a pull.
Taking a Pull
Once your device is pre-heated, your cart is ready for use. We recommend keeping your pulls to 1-3 seconds, as longer pulls can cause flooding. Flooding occurs when too much product rushes the coils. While the coils are able to heat up most of the distillate to vapor state, some distillate may only reach liquid state.
This could lead to clogging issues. When the distillate that did not reach vapor state cools, it could return to a semi-solid state in the airway, causing a clog.
After each session, we recommend doing one or two “dry hits”. This is, again, taking a small pull without the battery being activated. This will clear out any product that may have gotten stuck within the airway.
After Your Session
Taking care of your product after use will help eliminate frustrating clogs and ensure that your next session is smooth and pleasurable. Storing your cart upright after use will ensure that any distillate that did not reach vapor state runs back into the canister. This will help prevent clogs and ensure you’re not wasting any product.
Keep the rubber stops that come with your cart. These come in handy, particularly if you plan to take your cart with you. These stops will help any dirt or debris from getting in your cart’s airway that could lead to a clog.
Be sure your cart is stored at room temperature and away from light. Also, after each session, turn off the battery you’re using to vape your cart with. This will prolong the life of your battery while also preventing any accidental fires that may happen while in your pocket or purse.
